Restylane
Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
Restylane is the first cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. It is biodegradable and fully biocompatable with human hyaluronic acid.
How does it work?
Restylane is a hyaluronic acid that provides volume and fullness to the skin. It is a clear jel substance that is injected directly under the surface of the skin.
Where can Restylane be used?

Do the injections hurt?
Restylane is injected in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort and instant results. To optimize your comfort your practitioner may anesthetize the treatment area.
How long does it last?
Restylane can last between 3-6 months
What should patients do prior to treatment?
Avoid using aspirin, ibuprofen, St. Johns Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplement because these may increase bruising or bleeding at injection sites. If you have a history of facial cold sores, you may need pre-treatment with an antiviral medicine. Please discuss this with your practitioner.
How is Restylane different from Botox Cosmetic?
Restylane is natural cosmetic filler. In contrast, Botox Cosmetic is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles. Together both products compliment each other.
What are the side effects?
After your treatment, you will have some redness and/or swelling, and may have some bruising. As with any injectable, infection can occur.
Important safety information:
Restylane contains trace amounts of gram positive bacterial proteins and should not be used by patients with a history of allergies to such material. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or are under the age of 18, you should not use Restylane. .
